Austin J. Jimmicum, 17, was a passenger in the vehicle and was not injured, said the State Patrol.

The State Patrol reported that the pickup truck was traveling east on Highway 112 and failed to make a 90-degree right turn at around 12:47 a.m. The vehicle crossed the center line, went off the westbound shoulder and struck a large alder tree.

State Patrol said the truck came to rest approximately 40 feet below the roadway near the resort.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
