Washington State Patrol is reporting a two-vehicle accident that occurred at around 6:31 p.m., Sunday evening, just north of Forks.
The Accident Memo states that a 2003 Honda Odyssey, driven by 46-year-old Marie A. Dionne of Forks, failed to stop at the stop sign where the “A” Road enters Highway 101. The Dionne vehicle traveled onto Hwy 101 striking a 2002 Jeep being driven by Trent H. Chase, age 18, of Beaver.
The Chase vehicle left the roadway on the southbound side of Hwy 101 and struck a Dept. of Transportation sign.
WSP reports that Dionne was not injured and charged with failure to stop at the stop sign and Chase was charged with no valid Operators License and transported to Forks Community Hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Both vehicles were totaled.
