Youth week Results

Forks Elks Lodge #2524

On Sunday May, 5 the Forks Elks Lodge furnished the Lodge food booth to the Sportsman Club Kids Fishing Day. Elks members, Edna Leppell, Chuck and Patsy Jennings and Jeanie Miller handed out hot cocoa, hot dogs and pastries to over 300 kids and their parents.

On Monday, May 6 the Lodge held its annual youth banquet to honor the youth of our community. The Lodge recognized the Forks High School, Clallam Bay High School, and Neah Bay High School “Students of the Month” and the “Students of The Year.”

They also announced the Most Valuable Student Scholarship winners and the Vocational Grant winners. Also recognized were the Hoop shoot and Soccer shoot winners. There were about 100 kids and parents in attendance.

This is the 44th year the Forks Elks have honored the youth of our community. Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped on the committees.

Recognized at FHS as Students of Character were: Sept. – Politeness- Blanca Silva and Brandon Baar; Oct. – Authenticity – Danielle Helms and Shane Queen; Nov. – Humility – Sandra Martinez and Damin Voyles; Dec. – Creativity – Rebekka Campbell and Julio Salazar Valentin; Jan. – Perseverance – Lynzee Jaksha and Justin Wasankari; Feb. – Loyalty – Cecila Estrada and Jacob Trainor; March – Self Discipline – Keli Doyle and Zeke Biss-Rosa.

Clallam Bay Students of the Month were; Sept. – Jasmine LaChester and Clayton Levitz; Oct. – Jaxson Flores and Rose Cain; Nov. – Justice Pilatti and Anthony McGraw; Dec. – Victoria Donoghue and Ryan McCoy; Jan. – Michael Maines and Rikki Gonzales; Feb. – Neveah Hess and Michael Littleton; March – Ryan Strid and Shyann Littleton; April – Kaitlyn Willis and Caiton Smith; May – Miriam Wonderly.

Two $500 Most Valuable Student Scholarships went to Britney Dean and Seth Johnson.

Two Vocational Grants went to Rebekka Campbell and Robert Anderson. They also both received $2,000 grants from the Washington State Elks Association Vocational Grant Program.
