Albert A. “Bert” Fletcher, of Port Angeles, Washington, passed away on July 31, 2021, with his loving wife, Judy, by his side. Bert was born on August 5, 1935, in Forks, Washington to Henry and Estene Fletcher. He graduated Forks High School in 1953.
After attending the University of Washington, he served four years in the United States Air Force.
He owned Bert’s Chevron Station in Port Angeles for 33 years and later worked as a custodian for the Port Angeles School District.
An avid flyer with a pilot’s license, he was active in the community as a member of the Port Angeles Civil Air Patrol and in the Lions Club.
He was married to Carol Hatfield from 1957 to 1977; Denise Hennings from 1977-1993; and Judy Tucker from 1999 until his death.
He was preceded in death by his son, Darrel “Scotty” Fletcher in 1984, and granddaughter Fiona Lingefelt in 2000.
Bert is survived by his wife, Judy Fletcher, his children, Karen Lingefelt (Douglas) of Tampa, FL; Brian Hatfield of Phoenix, AZ; Kris Hoff (Kevin) of Snohomish WA; Victoria Heindel of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bert’s remains will be interred at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.
