August 17, 1928 – January 20, 2020
Cora Marjorie Kaemmle (later Cowles) was born at Forks, WA on August 17, 1928, to Carl and Magda Kaemmle. She graduated from Forks High School in 1946 and married Lyle Cowles, a soldier recently returned from the war, the same year. Lyle and Cora lived in Shuwah between Forks and Beaver and raised 5 children while Lyle worked logging or building trails in Olympic National Park.
After Lyle’s untimely death in 1976, Cora moved to Yakima, then to Crescent Bar near Wenatchee after she was married to Wendell Edwards in 1997. She went quietly to rest on January 20, 2021, in the home of her daughter Susan in Warrenton, OR near Astoria. She leaves behind her younger sister Adria Fuhrman, her children Susan (and Marland) Armstrong, Joan (and Raymond) Perkon, Ivan (and Diane) Cowles, David (and Linda) Cowles, and Jessica (and Guillermo) Gow-Lee, along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We look forward to a reunion with her when Jesus comes soon.
