Oct. 8, 1941 – Aug. 8, 2023
Dale was born in Port Angeles to Vaud (Shorty) Morgan and Betty McGoff Morgan. In his early years, he lived in Sappho and attended Beaver School. He later moved to Hoko Camp with his Dad and attended Clallam Bay High School. After high school, he joined the Air Force spending two years in Japan.
Returning home, he started working for Rayonier and later became a Supervisor for ITT Rayonier. In 1969, on a blind date, he met Sharon Sullivan. They married and built their home in Sekiu, where they raised three children.
Dale had a dream of opening a restaurant and he became the proud owner of Morgan’s Drive-In. He operated Morgan’s until 2011.
Dale loved and rarely missed watching his children play sports. He was an enthusiastic spectator sometimes to the embarrassment of his kids.
His hobbies were sail boating, clam digging, gardening, and maintaining a huge pond of Koi fish. He continued his love of logging, cutting down trees for firewood. The sound of his power saw will forever be missed.
Dale loved being the father of the bride, hosting weddings and many family celebrations in his beautiful yard. He loved taking the grandchildren to feed the fish and taking them for rides on his four-wheeler.
Dale is survived by his wife Sharon of 53 years. Children Darrick Morgan, Michelle Klepps (Todd) and Kara Kadow (Jeff). His grandchildren Kyra, Jayla, Brandon, and Logan. His brother Jimmy Warren; Sisters Judy Horton (Bill), Linda Mertz, and Janel Cressman (Don). Numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale died from Lewy Body Dementia, a devastating disease with no cure. He volunteered to participate in the Saturn Project through the University of Washington. He knew it wouldn’t help him but maybe help others is the future.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2023, from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Sekiu Community Hall in Sekiu.
