April 10, 1937 – July 12, 2022
George Monroe Jones was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 10th, 1937 to parents Rose Mary Clark & Benjamin Franklin Jones. In 1974 George and his wife Mary Carol Jones moved to Forks, WA with their 5 children.
George was one of 10 children and had to grow up at a very young age. Nothing made George prouder than to say, “With only an 8th grade level of education, he was able to work hard enough to build a beautiful life here in Forks.” Leaving behind a foundation for his family, built with his own two hands, to feel safe and to call home.
Nothing made George happier than being outdoors; either by the river bank catching fish or in the woods making money. George Jones was a wonderful, respected, and admirable man.
George was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Great -Grandfather who will ALWAYS be remembered & missed. (Papa thank you for being you, it’s a relief to know you’re not suffering and in pain anymore, and to know that we will see you again someday!!! XOXOXOXO Love You Always,
Mary, Angela, Stubie, Trent, & Dean Monroe!!!)
God’s Garden
God looked around his garden and found an empty place,
He then looked down upon this Earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew that you were in pain,
He also knew in heaven YOU WOULD NEVER HURT AGAIN!
He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills harder to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “PEACE BE THINE”,
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
If tears could build a staircase, and memories a lane, we’d walk all the way to heaven,
and bring you home again!!!
