JoAnn Willard

Born October 15, 1926, in Escanaba, MI to James C. Baker and Mabelle Cornell Baker. She died December 1, 2020, peacefully at home in Clallam Bay, WA of age-related causes, JoAnn was 94 at the time of her death.

JoAnn served as a cadet nurse in WWII, she went back to school at the UW to become a nurse practitioner. She was the first nurse practitioner on the Olympic Peninsula and started her practice in Clallam Bay in 1973 where the old liquor store is now located. She retired from nursing in 1990.

Jo Ann enjoyed hiking, camping, reading, gardening, and traveling. Her favorite place to travel was Greece, she went three times. The temple of Poseidon always seemed to call her home.

She is survived by her son Kevin Kozak (Charlotte), adopted son James Kozak, stepson Bill (May) Smith, stepdaughters, Cori Donnelly (Mike) and Delaine Green, and seven grandchildren Nathan (Melissa) Kozak, Brent (Stephanie) Kozak, James Kozak and Katie (Ryan) Fraser. One great-granddaughter Teagan Ann Fraser and two great-grandsons Jamieson Fraser and Liam Kozak.

A Celebration of Life potluck is planned for July 24, 2021, at the Sekiu /Clallam Bay Center.
