Linda Ann DeMatteis

Linda Ann DeMatteis was born July 30, 1950, in Ellensburg WA to John & Mary Ann DeMatteis, where the family settled in Cle Elum, WA.

She married Jerry Jones on November 26, 1966. Together they built a family, living many places. They always found Forks to be “Home”.

She was a homemaker at her very best, while raising her children. She loved cooking, baking, sewing & many home projects. She was a Sunday school teacher and loved the Lord.

As her children grew older, she worked at many places. Starting at the Corner Store (now known as Ron’s Food Mart) she then went on to waitress at the Smokehouse Restaurant for over twenty years. At that time, she married Randy Lato in August of 1991. Her passion was taking care of her grandchildren (and others she’d adopted as her own), spending time with family and friends, she loved her pets as if they were her kids too, working in her yard and tending to her beautiful flowers, helping run their business throughout the day, and waitressing nights at the restaurant.

She loved every holiday. She loved dressing up for Halloween and sewing all the costumes (even taking first place in the contest quite a few times). She took great pride in all her work. She went all out for Christmas and decorating, even having two trees!

Later she worked at Forks True Value and for her daughter at Monica’s Hairstyling & Clothing Boutique. She would host Christmas parties and had many friends. She was known to be a great hard-working lady in the community.

Her smile could light up a room and she was full of sass! She was so loved by many.

She went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2021, peacefully at home with her daughter and family around her. She had succumbed to Alzheimer’s that she’d been battling for about nine years.

Linda is survived by her daughter-in-law Nicole “Nicki” and sons MJ (grandson) and Marlin Jones (grandson).
