Michael Ellis Osborn was born into the community of Forks, WA, on March 13, 1938, to Margaret and Ellis Osborn. It was during his childhood that he developed a love of travel as the family spent time between Washington and California as migrant workers.
Mike inherited his passion for both books and education from his mother. He cared about the plight of his fellow man, the condition of our planet, the beauty of the arts, and the wonders of science. He graduated from Berkeley, taking some time off from his studies to serve his country in the army. He worked many years for Alameda and Sonoma Counties in California.
After having been friends for years, Mike married Roberta Craig in 1991. They made their home in Ephrata where they welcomed friends in for delicious BBQs and thought-provoking discussions, and always a game of lawn croquet. He was a concerned citizen, a loving husband, and a wonderful friend.
Michael died of cancer on Dec. 11, 2021, at CBH in Ephrata, WA. He will be missed by all who enjoyed his stimulating conversations and his sense of humor.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in his memory to the Ephrata Food Bank, your favorite environmental organization, (Mike had many), or other charity of your choice.
