Richard “Rick” Klinge

Richard “Rich” Klinge, 62, died in Wenatchee on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

He was raised in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Fisheries Science.

From 1975 through 1990 he worked various fisheries positions with Hoh, Quinault and Makah tribes. He also was the pastor of the Clallam Bay Assembly of God from 1984 through 1987. During this time he published a short meditative pieces in the Forks Forum. “Rainy Reflections.”

Both of his sons were born in Forks.

In 1990, Rick moved with his family to Wenatchee where he worked for 19 years for Douglas County PUD to minimize impacts on Salmon and steelhead from the operations of Wells Dam located on the Columbia River near Pateros.

In 2009 he took an early medical retirement as a result of bone marrow disease. Rick fought the rare disease AL Amyloidosis undergoing a heart transplant, two stem cell transplants and various regiments of chemotherapy until he died.

Rick is survived by his wife, Rosaline; his children Derek and David; step-children, Andrea, Nicholas and Lanette; and nine grandchildren.
