Forks resident Thomas Wayne Rogers passed away Oct. 25, 2017, in Port Angeles, WA at the age of 71.
He was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Port Angeles, WA to Thomas Manley and Blanche Louise Rogers (Bailey).
Tom entered the army in Oct 1963 and graduated from medical school at Fort Sam Huston, Texas.
His first tour in Vietnam was from Nov. 1964-Nov. 1965. During that tour, he served six months with the 8th Field Hospital at Nha Trang and six months with the 82nd Medical Helicopter Ambulance Dust off unit at Soc Trang.
His 2nd tour of duty of 18 months was with the 82nd Medical Hospital Ambulance.
Tom also trained with the Second Medical Battalion and graduated from Jump School with the 101st Airborne Division.
Tom is survived by his wife Ilene of 36 years, their children Donnell Rogers of Marysville, WA, Brenda Rogers of Port Angeles, WA, Thomas Rogers of Fort Stockton, Texas, Shelley Crowley of Las Vagas, NV, Deana Rogers of Forks, WA, Katie Rogers of Yakima, WA, Quin Ersland of Port Angeles, WA and nine grandchildren.
Tom is also survived by his brother William Rogers, uncle Terry Hugo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bruce Rogers.
At Tom’s request, there will be no service.
