Bill moved to Forks, at an early age and met his life-long sweetheart, Mary Ann Morgan, while in junior high school. After graduating in 1943 from Quillayute Union High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. They married in July 1945 while Bill was on leave and before he deployed to the Pacific.
Upon his return to Forks, he followed in his father’s footsteps in the logging industry and was co-owner of Beebe and Simmons Busheling. In the late1960s he began using his customer service and mechanical skills at Bill’s Texaco, which he owned and operated for many years.
Bill was active at Forks Assembly of God where he served on the church board and teaching Bible classes. He also served the Forks community as a volunteer with the ambulance service.
Bill and Mary Ann moved to Wenatchee in 1993 where they quickly assimilated into the community, making many new friends, becoming members of Wenatchee First Assembly, and where Bill showed his community focus though his volunteering at Parkside Care Center.
Both enjoyed their family and traveling during their retirement years. He truly had a servant’s heart, loved his family, and very much enjoyed yard work, growing some beautiful roses.
Bill was a Godly man whose kind and gentle demeanor, sense-of-humor, sweet smile and sparkling blue eyes made everyone feel loved, even to the end of his life.
