Worth L. Brandeberry passed peacefully on January 11th, 2023, at the age of 97.
Worth was born June 6th, 1925, in Mount Vernon Washington to Pete and Ora (Crippen) Brandeberry. He resided on the upper Bogachiel for most of his life.
Worth was a WWII veteran who landed at Omaha beach on his 19th birthday, June 6th, 1944. He was wounded at Saint Lo, France receiving a purple heart when he was shot and lost one of his lungs. After he was discharged from the hospital the army then sent him to the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. Worth was one of the few soldiers that fought at D-Day in addition to the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Worth drove Log Truck for himself and several different logging companies until he retired in 1986. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his retirement years, Worth would take trips to Canada to go Moose hunting and lots of fishing in Eastern Washington.
Worth is survived by his son Michael Robert Brandeberry (Gail), daughter Kacy Mae Scott (David) and stepdaughter Sandra Wickland (Rick), Nieces, Carol Brandeberry Lewis (Dave) and Nancy Brandeberry Clauson (Jack).
He is also survived by his beloved Grandchildren Brandy Jean Brandeberry, Jared Michael Brandeberry (Emily), Taryn Michelle Goodman (Jeremy), Deanna DeBreuil (Glen) and Karen Salvadalbana (Alan). Along with 9 Great-grandchildren.
Worth was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lillian Brandeberry, on July 21, 2022.
A graveside service will be held at a later date for both Worth and Lillian where their ashes will be placed at the Brandeberry plot in Forks, WA.
