To clarify: “Atheist” means “without gods.” It is no more than the right not to have an admitted alternative governmental system inserting itself into the system we vote for. Historical and present abuses – from treatment of human and other planetary life, bad science in public advertising, to forcing us to pay the taxes of these alternative systems without representation within them – do make it necessary for voters to show constant vigilance in all areas of life not to be interfered with by a system we have not chosen. I would dearly love to be simply not be bothered by gods – but we witness daily and constantly how that is not allowed to us.
