I have been reflecting a lot this week of the last year through Covid. I am one of the old-timers at QVSD and blessed to still love my job and the people I work with (blessed). I have seen many changes and challenges in the 31 years I have been here, but I believe this past year has been the most challenging.
I would like to share how I have seen QVSD become such a strong and resilient community.
On March 13th, 2020 we sent our students from school thinking we would have them back in a couple weeks or at the longest a month. As time went by I worried that I was not able to give them a safe and comforting goodbye. Wow, if I would have known then what I know now that was the least of my worries.
I have seen QVSD/FMS become such a strong and resilient community for me and our young people. Through learning packets, remote learning, K12, Cohorts, always thinking and worrying about our kiddo’s Social/Emotional well-being on top of their education, we have navigated these challenges with great success. We have shown our students through many challenges we are here for them and will always be here for them.
I want you all to know I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all we have done and we have a caring FMS family through good times and the struggles of our world. FMS Spartans are the best.
