Dear Editor,

As many of you know, Cindy Mesenbrink taught Kindergarten and 1st Grade in our school district for over 30 years! An anonymous donor has created a scholarship in her honor for 3rd or 4th-year college students who are QVSD or Quileute Tribal School grads who are working to become a teacher.

The initial amount is $1,000 and we all have an opportunity to donate to increase the amount and it will continue for several years since the donor is funding it! Whether you donate $10 or $100, every little bit will help a future teacher from our area to reach their goal to be a teacher, following Cindy’s footsteps. Our donor chose 3rd or 4th year students because as we all know that is when it becomes more difficult to pay for tuition, books, housing etc.
