Sunday, Oct. 22 was a big day for the kids attending the Washington State Elks State Soccer Shoot in Bremerton.
Eight youngsters representing Forks Elks Lodge #2524 went to the state contest to try their luck in competing against kids from five other lodges from all over the state. There were five age groups, with boys and girls in each group.
In the girls contest, Annabelle Pagel placed second in the U (under)8 division, Xoey Penn placed first in the U10 division, Candida-Rose Sandoval placed second in the U14 division. In the Boys contest, Tannon Gaydeski Placed fourth in the U8 division, Mateo Lucas placed first in the U10 division, Jesus Garcia placed first in the U12 division, Hector Garcia placed second in the U14 division, Neshiah Tejano placed 1st in the U16 division.
The trophy for the most points scored went to Mateo Lucas from the Forks Elks Lodge with a score of 51 points. After the contest the Bremerton Elks Lodge #1181 served hamburgers and hot dogs and fries to all who attended.
