Like a well-oiled chainsaw cuts through cedar, the Forks 10U softball squad sawed through the competition to claim the North Washington Babe Ruth state championship Sunday.
The Forks squad claimed the title with a 3-0 win over Hoquiam on Sunday.
The team went undefeated with a 6-0 record in the tournament, outscoring opponents 86-3 along the way.
Saturday, the locals swept into the title game by beating Upper Kittitas 18-0 and Othello 10-1.
The town’s 12U team left the tournament after falling to North Olympic of Port Angeles 10-4 in the loser-out bracket.
