On Tuesday, July 25, the Forks Elks Lodge #2524 held its annual Soccer Shoot at the high school practice field. Fifty-one young people signed up to participate in the contest. There were five divisions for the children to shoot in.

The winners in each age group were U8 (Under 8) Boys, Kevin Davila, U8 girls Anabelle Pagel, U10 Boys Mateo Lucas, U10 Girls, Xoey Penn, U12 Boys Emmanuel Hernandes, U12 Girls Aliya Gillett, U14 Boys Hector Gabriel Garcia, U14 Girls Candida-Rose Sandoval, U16 Boys Neshiah Tejano.

All of the first-place winners will advance to the State Contest to be held in Bremerton on Oct. 22. A big thank you goes out to all that participated in the contest and to all of the Elk members and volunteers that helped put the Soccer Shoot on. A special thanks goes out to Tracy Gillett and Silvina Ramos and the WEYL Soccer League for allowing the Elks to put on the contest during its games.
