RAYMOND — The Forks track and field team got outstanding performances from its girls’ relay teams and throwers at the Pacific 2B League subdistricts meet Friday.
The Forks girls finished second as a team, tallying 146 points to North Beach’s 193. The Spartans’ 4×200 and 4×400 relay teams took first. Forks, North Beach, Raymond, Ocosta, South Bend, Ilwaco and Chief Leschi were all at the meet with the top five finishers in each event moving on to the District 4 meet next week.
The 4×200 team of Erika Williams, Allie Coons, Natalie Horejsi and Miley Blanton won with a time of 2:02.22, while the 4×400 team of Moli Luong, Caitlyn Cooney, Kendall Marshall and Horejsi won with a time of 5:02.11.
The Forks girls dominated the shot put, discus and javelin.
Blanton won the shot put with a distance of 29 feet, 0 inches. Teammate Keana Rowley was right behind in second at 29-9½.
Katelynn Wallerstedt won the discus with a throw of 91-8. Rowley won the javelin with a throw of 97-9 and her teammate Peyton Johnson was right behind at second with a throw of 94-3.
Johnson also won the long jump with a leap of 14-5, and Luong won the 400 with a time of 1:12.95. Kendall Marshall ran a personal record time of 2:51.26 in the 800 meters, coming in second.
Other girls qualifying for district include:
1,600 — Marshall, fourth, 6:36.25.
100 hurdles — Johnson, fourth, 19.77.
Shot put — Dunn, fifth, 27-3½.
Discus — Dunn, fourth, 85-1; Blanton, fifth, 82-0.
Javelin — Dunn, fourth, 89-1.
Long jump — LaRayne Blair, fifth, 11-8.
Triple jump — Blair, fifth, 25-9.
Boys
Nate Dahlgren and Noah Foster had solid meets for the Spartans. Dahlgren won the javelin with a personal record throw of 151-4. He came in second in the shot put with a distance of 48-3 and was third in the discus at 142-2.
Foster won the 400 meters in a time of 54.07 and he was second in the 200 at 24.14.
The boys’ 4×100 and 4×400 teams both finished third. The 4×100 team of Ryan Anderson, Malachi Rowley, Foster and Isaac Gonzales had a time of 48.05 while the 4×400 team of Anderson, Rowley, Gege Willenbrink and Foster had a time of 4:04.41.
Other boys qualifying for district include:
Shot put — Sebastian Qunneke, 37-9, fourth, Sloan Tumaua, 36-7, fifth.
Discus — Tumaua, fourth. 124-6.
Javelin — Joe Franklin, fourth, 120-11.
