CHEHALIS — The Forks track and field team will send nine athletes to the state 2B championships this weekend in Yakima after their performances at the District 4 championships at W.F. West High School.
Coach Pam Gale shared, “Some great stuff happened that came on a wish and a prayer. Starting with a new school record in the Javelin set back in 2012 by Tristina Smith 104’7.25 inches, Keana Rowley threw 104’11 inches placing 4th and headed to the state track meet.
Nate Dahlgren was 2nd in the shot with a state qualifying throw of 46’6.75 inches and was 4th in the Javelin with a state qualifying throw of 144’4”, Sloan Tumaua was 5th in the discus with a state qualifying throw of 140’2”.
Gage Willenbrink was 2nd in the high jump with a jump of 5’6”. On the running side, Noah Foster was 5th in the 400m running a PR and state qualifying time of 52’67 and the girl’s 4×2 Relay of Moli Luong, Peyton Johnson, Erika Williams, and Miley Blanton took 5th running a 6-second PR to advance to the state meet!

The 2B state track and field meet begins Thursday at Eisenhower High School in Yakima.
