Forks’ Williams named Pacific League MVP

FORKS — Forks’ Erika Williams, who helped lead her volleyball team to a Pacific 2B League championship and to a berth at the state 2B tournament, was named the league’s MVP.

Williams was the setter for the Spartans, who went 8-0 in league and are 14-4 overall. The Spartans finished fourth at the District 4 2B tournament this weekend.

Also making the first team were Spartans Eladia Hernandez-Stansbury and Keana Rowley. Forks’ Chloe Gaydeski, Karee Neel and Fyn Peters made the second team, and Avery Dilley and Bailey Johnson made the honorable mention team.

Forks traveled to play at the state tournament at the Yakima SunDome last Wednesday.

Forks, lost its opener 3-0 (25-22, 22-22, 25-18) to River View. As one of the higher seeds in the consolation bracket at No. 10. They went on to play Warden, a No. 15 seed but also lost.
