Forks girls sixth
HOQUIAM — The Forks girls wrestling team finished sixth at the girls subregionals with five girls placing in their weight divisions. Forks had the highest finish of any 2B school.
Leading the way was Miley Blanton at 120 pounds, who took the championship with two pins and a 6-2 decision over Emily Mallonee of W.F. West in the finals.
Peyton Johnson was third at 115 pounds, Flora Horejsi third at 105 and Natalie Horejsi third at 110. Lillianna Galeana was fifth at 110 and Riley Tjepkema earned team points at 135 pounds.
The Forks girls tallied 99 points. Winning subdistricts was W.F. West, a 2A school, with 273 points.
