FORKS — Forks had goal-scoring opportunities, including a penalty kick, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a 4-0 Evergreen League boys soccer loss to Hoquiam at Spartan Stadium last Wednesday.
The Grizzlies took control of Wednesday’s game on a penalty-kick goal by Martinez Ortiz, who then assisted on a goal by freshman midfielder Alexsander Perez for a 2-0 lead at halftime.
JB Fabian made it a 3-0 game in the second half with a goal off a Martinez Ortiz through ball and capped off the scoring later in the half with a hard shot over Forks goalkeeper Juan Terrones.
Hoquiam goalkeeper Mauricio Avila-Guzman made six saves to earn the clean sheet.
Forks (2-6) played Eatonville last Friday.
